Lorna Campos, Women's Soccer, August 28, 2023

Campos usually puts in most of her work on the defensive end of the field, but the opening week of 2023 saw her help fuel the Racers on the offensive front, as well. In the season debut, Campos assisted on the game winner of a win over Shawnee State while putting in a full 90 minutes of work. Defensively, the Racers held the Bears to just six total shots, four on goal, to earn the 3-1 victory.

On match day two, Campos struck paydirt herself with a left-footed volley off a short cross to score the first goal of the match. She worked 76 of the 90 minutes helping hold Mt. Vernon Nazarene to five shots on goal in a 2-1 win over the Cougars. 

Campos now has two goals and two assists with the Racers giving her eight and seven in her career including her first two seasons at Rio Grande prior to transfering to UNOH. She earned WHAC Defensive POTW honors for her work giving the program it's first defensive award since 2019 (Lisa Venrath) and the first POTW award for Campos since September 22, 2020 when she earned offensive honors with the Red Storm.
