LIMA, OH - Northwestern Ohio (6-7-2, 4-2-2) couldn't break through the Madonna (11-4-0, 7-1-0) defense falling at home 2-0.
All the damage was done in a three minute span with the first from distance in the 23rd minute and the second coming from just outside the box in the 26th minute. The Racer defense locked down and kept Madonna off the board again, but couldn't crack the scoreboard on the offensive end.
Madonna finished with 13 shots in the game and UNOH finished with nine. Shots on goal, however, leaned heavily in favor of the Crusaders 9-2.
Mireia Queralt (FR/Alpicat, Spain) (2-2) played the first 45 minutes of the game, giving up both goals while making four saves to take the loss. Ilke Brandsma (JR/Partij, Netherlands) finished off the last 45 making two saves.
Next up for UNOH will be Lawrence Tech on Saturday, October 22, when they celebrate Senior Day at Racer Stadium.
