LIMA, OH - UNOH volleyball avenged an early season road loss to Madonna winning the home side of the season series 3-1 on Saturday.
The Racers took the first game of the day 25-19 but saw the Crusaders respond with a 25-14 win in game two. UNOH had to battle from behind in sets three and four but finished strong in both winning 25-20 and 25-22 to take the match, 3-1.
Gianna San Filippo led the team with 13 points coming off eight kills, six block assists, and two service aces. Shamyria DuBose finished with 12.5 points scoring ten kills with three assisted blocks and one solo. Aliyah Saylor and Abigail Martin each chipped in ten points in the match. Saylor finished with nine kills and no errors with two block assists while Martin scored all her points with ten kills.
Bailey Gregory finished with a team high 20 digs with Riley Treece adding eleven for her third double-digit outing in the last four matches.
Savanna Reed and Madelyn Hampton both logged a double-double with Reed tallying 19 assists and ten digs and Hampton going 17 and 13.
With the 2-0 weekend, UNOH moves to 8-6 in WHAC play and 17-15 overall, both the program's most in the Kreiner Era. The win over Madonna also clinches the Racers a spot in the WHAC Tournament for the first time since 2019.
UNOH will play three of their four remaining matches on the road beginning with a trip up I-75 on Wednesday, October 30 to take on Lourdes.
