UNOH Blanks Indiana Tech to Advance to WHAC Semifinals

LIMA, OH - The No. 24 Racers earned another shutout victory in the WHAC Quarterfinals Wednesday blanking seventh-seed Indiana Tech 3-0 at Racer Stadium.

Troy High School product Chloe Fecher notched the first goal of the day in the 16th minute in a one-on-one with the keeper. Janne Frauenpreiss set up the move from the backline with a long ball into space on the opposite end of the field. Mathilda Berg Karlsson tracked it down in space feeding Natalia Lima on the run who made the extra pass across box to Fecher all by herself for an easy finish.

A Minni Laukka corner kick set up the second goal just before halftime. After the initial ball was deflected out, Karlsson got her head to it and sent it back towards the goal where Vivian Purmonen did the same over the keeper and into the net.

The 2-0 score held for almost 30 minutes of game time before Natalia Lima finished off the day with some slick moves around the box. Lima worked the build up connecting with Inga Ehrenfried at the top of the goal area. Ehrenfried fed it right back to Lima who make a quick move right before attacking left leaving the Warrior defender in two-minds and giving the keeper no chance.

UNOH smothered their opposition again holding the Warriors to just two shots and only one on goal putting nine of their 15 on target. It is the team's 13th shutout this season, the program's most since 2019 (14), and it's seventh straight, the longest streak since 2010 (10).

With the win, the Racers advance to the WHAC Semifinals on Saturday where they will host six-seed Rochester Christian at 1:00 PM.
