Racers Blank Warriors 4-0

FORT WAYNE, IN - UNOH women's soccer scored three times in the second half on Wednesday to pull away from Indiana Tech in a 4-0 road win.

Just one goal separated the teams at halftime and it came in the 28th minute with an Indiana Tech own goal. Inga Ehrenfried sent a cross into the box, looking for Vivian Purmonen, but it found an airborne Warrior and deflected into the back of the net.

The second half belonged to UNOH scoring three times in 13 minutes to take control of the night. Minni Laukka set up the first in the 62nd minute off a long ball into the box. After it went over the keeper, the ball bounced once and ricocheted off the post straight back to Chloe Fecher who finished into an open net. The second and third goals came just 29 seconds apart to blow the game open.

Vivian Purmonen did all of the set up work herself for the second feeding Jasmin Tadina with a through ball that broke the back line. Tadina took it in stride and finished over an attacking keeper to go up 3-0. The game had just restarted when Celia Catalan Keck threaded three defenders on the ground from distance looking for Vivian Purmonen on the run in the box. The keeper charged again but Purmonen won the race to the ball and poked it past to cap a 4-0 win.

Sophia Eisner (8-3-3) went the distance to earn the win making two saves in the match.

UNOH will wrap up the regular season with back-to-back home games facing Lawrence Tech on Saturday, October 26 and concluding against Cleary on Wednesday.
