Quick Start Fuels 3-0 Win for Women's Soccer

LIMA, OH - UNOH women's soccer improved to 4-0 in WHAC play with a 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Lourdes on Saturday. The Racers scored twice in the first ten minutes and added a third later in the half holding the Gray Wolves to just three total shots and one on goal.

The first goal came in the fifth minute with Anna Sjolte passing the ball from the left wing to the top of the box where Alivia Chambers played it in stride. Her first touch got her past two defenders before keeping the ball on the ground across to the opposite side of the box. Vivian Purmonen struck it first time with her left foot putting it over the keeper and under the crossbar. Five minutes later, Minni Laukka connected with Janne Frauenpreiss on a corner kick putting UNOH up 2-0. The Racers hit one more time in the 24th minute going back to front off the only Lourdes shot on target. Mathilda Berg Karlsson fed Natalia Lima from the left side and Lima beat her mark off the dribble working into the penalty box. At the top of the six-yard box, Lima cut right beating a second defender and finished left back across the keeper and into the net.

Despite seven shots and three on goal in the second half, UNOH couldn't notch again but the defense stayed locked down and held Lourdes at bay.

Sophia Eisner (4-2-2) earned her third straight shutout making one save on the only shot on goal.

UNOH will begin a three-game road trip at Defiance on Wednesday before traveling to No. 4 Aquinas and UM-Dearborn.
