LIMA, OH - For the second time in five days, UNOH women's soccer hosted Rochester at Racer Stadium. After a 3-1 regular season finale victory on Saturday, the Racers were matched up against the Warriors again for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 1. This time, the Racers kept Rochester off the board with a 3-0 win to advance to face No. 2 seed Aquinas on Saturday.
UNOH was on the front foot early scoring their first goal less than two minutes into the game. After a corner came up short, Anne Sjolte passed the ball across the box from the left side and Janne Esther Frauenpreiss put it past the keeper. The 1-0 score would hold for more than 62 minutes of game time before the Racers finally put the game away. After some good build up, Rhiannon O'Looney connected with Nanna Rosengreen in space who cracked one from the top of the box into the back of the net. Five minutes later, another corner produced the third and final of the match. Patricia Blazquez sent the ball across the box finding Jasmin Tadina for a quick finish and a 3-0 win.
UNOH outshot Rochester 16-6 and 10-2 on goal earning 13 corner kicks to just three.
Sophia Eisner (5-3-0) earned her first complete game clean sheet after 90 minutes of work in front of goal.
No. 2 Aquinas took down No. 7 Indiana Tech 7-0 in their quarterfinal matchup and will host UNOH at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 4 for a trip to the WHAC Championship.
