Racers Edge Past Concordia 2-1

ANN ARBOR, MI - UNOH fell behind early but rallied with two second half goals to sneak past Concordia, 2-1.

The Cardinals struck early on their second shot of the match in the eleventh minute. Despite a steady stream of shots, the Racers couldn't get on the board and continued to trail into halftime. UNOH picked up in the second half where they left off in the first putting three of their first five shots on target in the first five minutes of the period. Finally, in the 54th minute the Racers' 18th shot of the match finally found the back of the net off the foot of Patricia Blazquez, assisted by Minni Laukka. UNOH kept pushing and found paydirt again in the 63rd minute, thanks again to Patricia Blazquez, this time from Patricia Gomez Nogueras. The Cardinals were held at bay throughout the second half with their only shot over 45 minutes coming with just ten seconds to play.

UNOH racked up 26 shots with twelve on goal to just six and four for Concordia.

Sophia Eisner (3-3-0) picked up her first win since August 26 making three saves over 90 minutes in front of goal.

With the win and a Lawrence Tech loss, UNOH moves back into third place in the conference standings with 22 points locking up a home-field quarterfinal matchup on November 1. The Racers host their final regular season game at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 28, against Rochester.
