UNOH Keeps Rolling with 4-0 Win at Madonna

LIVONIA, MI - UNOH came out of the traps quick and bagged their first goal less than two minutes into the game. The Racers added two more in the first half and capped things off with a converted penalty in the second for a comfortable 4-0 win.

Patricia Blazquez connected with Rhiannon O'Looney on a cross right out of the gate and O'Looney put the Racers on the front foot early. Twenty minutes later, the ball ricocheted around in the box before it was corralled by Vivian Purmonen and put past the keeper again. The ball bounced in the favor of UNOH again right before halftime after being played by Minni Laukka and taking a deflection off a defender into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead at the break.

It took 22 minutes of second half play before the Racers could create their final goal of the match. Ashley Wilson found some space in the box and was taken down from behind earning a penalty kick. Wilson took the kick herself and put it in the bottom corner for the final 4-0 lead.

Mireia Queralt (7-1-2) earned the win after making three saves over 73 minutes of work in front of goal. Sophia Eisner relieved the final 17 minutes making one save to preserve the combined shutout.

UNOH has now outscored their oppponents 22-2 in the last seven games with six straight clean sheets.

Next time out, the Racers will take on the team right behind them in the conference standings when they head to Southfield, Michigan on Saturday for a 4:00 PM matchup with Lawrence Tech.
