LIMA, OH - UNOH women's soccer picked up their second clean sheet of the season with a 4-0 blanking of UM-Dearborn at Racer Stadium.
The Racers dominated the first half, racking up 17 total shots, but only earned one goal to show for their work. It came in the 33rd minute after a deflected cross landed at the feet of Alejandra Gomez Nogueras inside the 18. Gomez beat a defender and brought the ball low across the box where Janne Esther Frauenpreiss flicked it past the keeper.
It didn't take long after halftime for UNOH to open up the scoring again. Just a minute and a half out of the break, the Racers earned a corner and Patricia Blazquez found Jasmin Tadina on the far post who put it into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. The 54th minute saw UNOH notch again going back-to-front with a flawless counter attack that ended with a thru ball from Jasmin Tadina to Ashley Wilson. Wilson kept the ball low and beat the keeper one-on-one for the third goal of the match. The Racers went end-to-end again in the 73rd minute with Jasmin Tadina linking a through ball to Ashley Wilson who played a first-touch pass across the top of the box. The ball found Lorna Campos in stride who went left foot back across an outstretched keeper and into the back of the net.
The Racers were dominant on both ends of the field with a season high 27 shots while allowing a season low three. UNOH also earned 19 corner kicks in the match and allowed just one, both season bests.
Mireia Queralt (3-1-1) went the distance in front of goal making saves the only two times she was needed to pick up her second clean sheet of the season.
UNOH will head back on the road to take on Indiana Tech on Wednesday, October 4, with a 5:00 PM kickoff.
