Lawson Adds Ninth POTW Honor in Final Weekly WHAC Award

For the ninth time in 18 weeks this season, Northwestern Ohio's Alysia Lawson has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Offensive Player of the Week. It is the 13th weekly award of Lawson's career tying the WHAC record set in 2011 (Kallie Benike - Davenport).

After setting the program's single season scoring record last week, Lawson added 58 more to her career total averaging 29 points per game in the final week of the regular season. She helped lift her Racers to a big win over LTU with 27 points on Wednesday to set a new program record for wins in a season (19) topping the previous record of 18 set in the 2009-10 season. Lawson then capped the regular season with 31 points in an overtime loss at Siena Heights, her sixth 30-point and 21st 20-point performance of the year.

The nation's second leading scorer shot a 51% (23-45) from the field and 50% (5-10) from three hitting seven of nine free throw attempts. Lawson also added nine rebounds, five steals and two blocks to her weekly scoreline.
