LIMA, OH - UNOH took control early Wednesday night and left no doubt as all eleven Racers got into the scoring column en route to the largest conference victory in program history, 111-46, over Defiance. It is the program's third largest win all-time and the second most points scored in conference play (126 - 2014).
UNOH opened the night with a 25-5 first quarter and continued to pour it on throughout the night scoring 28, 33, and 25 points in each of the remaining frames while holding Defiance to just 17, 14, and ten.
The Racers shot 59.7% as a team from the field, the program's best since November 22, 2022 (.603) and held the Yellow Jackets to just 29% on the night. UNOH outscored Defiance 62-18 in the paint forcing 33 turnovers converting them into 39 points while giving up 13 and four. The Racers also racked up 23 assists as a team, their second consecutive 20+ outing and seventh of the season.
Alysia Lawson posted her fifth 30-point performance of the season, and second against Defiance, putting up a game high 32 points on 11-18 (61%) shooting. Lawson also added six steals, four rebounds and two assists to her scoreline. Jayci Allen scored 16 while pulling down seven rebounds shooting 7-9 from the field and Alycia Patterson scored 13 with eight assists and five steals. Ana Montero Sanz added eleven off the bench with six assists and Olivia Thompson produced ten.
UNOH will stay home for their next matchup that will be a showdown between two of the WHAC's top three teams as Aquinas, winners of seven straight, visit The Garage on Saturday.
