UNOH Notches Two Run-Rule Victories Over LTU

LIMA, OH - LIMA, OH - In their first action in eleven days, UNOH softball opened their conference schedule with a pair of run-rule wins over Lawrence Tech Saturday afternoon. The Racers made quick work of the Blue Devils in game one taking an 11-2 win before walking off another run-rule victory in game two, 10-2.

A lead off homer from Anna Ankney in the first got the day started for UNOH. Lawrence Tech plated one in the third and one in the fourth but the Racers scored ten over those same two innings to finish off the win.

Ankney finished 2-2 with two RBI while Matilda Newman and Sydney Shaffer both went 2-3 bringing in two and one RBI, respectively. Dani Keighley led with three RBI scoring all three on a bases-loaded double in the fourth.

Lanie Wooten (8-3) picked up the complete game win allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

The Racers put up bookend crooked numbers in game two that included three in the first and four in the sixth to complete the sweep. They were led by Tess Denning who put together her best outing of the season. Denning ripped two doubles and a home run to finish 3-3 with three RBI in the game. Matilda Newman was also perfect at the dish going 2-2 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI. Hailee Edgell and Holly Alvoid both recorded a multi-hit game with each finishing 2-3.
