
Koseoglu Wins His First WHAC POTW Award
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has voted Northwestern Ohio's Mete Koseoglu the men's tennis Player of the Week it was announced Monday.
Koseoglu helped his Racers to a pair of 6-1 victories on Saturday that included the final match of the WHAC regular season that gave UNOH their tenth-straight title. The day began with a 6-1 win over NCAA DII Davenport where Koseoglu dropped a tight first line doubles matchup 6-7 [10-12] with teammate Florian Smalto. It was his only loss of the week, however, as he rebounded to win set one of No. 2 doubles 6-3 and earning the victory when his opponent retired. Koseoglu then teamed up with Julian Arisio to blank No. 2 doubles 6-0 against Aquinas followed by another retirement in a 5-0 first set of his second line singles matchup.
It his the first career weekly award for Koseoglu making him the fifth different Racer to earn the honor this season.
