UNOH Motorsports Team Runs in Mike Streicher Memorial Races
Annual Event at Limaland Motorsports Park brings in Four Racing Series
LIMA, Ohio (May 9, 2025) The UNOH Motorsports Team ran in the "Mike Streicher Memorial" races this Friday as the second night of the 2025 racing season at Limaland Motorsports Park. The May 9 race was dedicated to former UNOH staff member Mike Streicher, who left a lasting impact with the students of the Motorsports Team and the University as a whole during his tenure.
Aidan Hinds hopped back into the No. 01 UMP Modified while Tyler Matheny, Dylan Drake and Houston Null returned to the No. 01, No. 1 and No. 11 Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks for the second week in a row. Driver lineups will continue to update and change weekly, so fans can keep an eye on social media for driver and crew lineups each week.
After highs and lows in the Heat races, the A Features started off with the UMP Modifieds. Aidan Hinds started strong and fast in the 11th position in a packed field but ended up not completing the race after a pileup in turn two collected a handful of modifieds.
Following the USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets and Dirt Track Truck Series, the Thunderstocks took to the track with Tyler Matheny and Houston Null making up the third row, in the fifth and sixth positions while Dylan Drake started 11th. The No. 1 suffered engine issues early on, which led to a DNF on the night. The No. 01 and No. 11 battled each other and their competitors throughout the remainder of the race, with Null in the able to fend off the field and finish high in second. Matheny hung on to a strong top ten and finished in the sixth position.
Join the UNOH Motorsports Team in support of its drivers and of local hometown racing this upcoming Friday, May 16 for the "Run for the Rabbit". This event will include racing from the Great Lakes Super Sprints, UMP Modifieds and Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks. Gates to Limaland Motorsports Park will open at 5 p.m on Friday night.
