
Men's Golf Places Second at UNOH Invite
LIMA, OH - UNOH men's golf began the fall season with a home tournament for the first time since 2019 and placed second out of six teams with 16 Racers competing in the 44-player field. UNOH shot 278-288-291 for a tournament total of 857, three strokes behind the top team, Midway (854).
Luke Turner and Oscar Lind led the Racers finishing in a tie for second place with a 213 (-3), two of just three golfers to shoot under par in the tournament. Turner shot his low in round one carding a 67 followed by a 75 and 71 while Lind carded a 69, 73 and 71. Guillermo Garron finished in a tie for fifth with teammate Bruno Boado who played as part of the Racers' B-Team. Garron shot 70, 71, 76 and Boado shot 71, 76, 70 for a total of 217 (+1). Oliver Rogers rounded out the team scoring right behind them in a tie for eighth going 72, 73, 73 for a 218 (+2). Bernardo Umana played as an individual in the tournament shooting 74, 77, 80 (231).
The UNOH B-Team saw Boado finish on top followed by Jaiden Pass and Luke S. Turner in a tie for eleventh (221) with Ottawa-Glandorf products Carter Schimmoeller and Zach Stechschulte in a tie for 15th (222). UNOH-C had Adrian Martin in a tie for 19th shooting a 223 with Jonathan Schlenker carding a 226, Coldwater product Ben Giere hitting 228, Parkway product Roman Leszinske finishing with a 235 and Jordan Johnstone carding a 241.
UNOH will head to The Players Club Invitational next played September 9-10 at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana.
