UNOH Motorsports Team Starts New Season at Limaland

LIMA, Ohio (May 2, 2025) The UNOH Motorsports Team ran in the "Season Opening Shootout" races this Friday to kick off the 2025 racing season at Limaland Motorsports Park. The May 2 race was the first Limaland experience for the team's new members, who got to observe and try out at-track work on the cars, tires and everything needed to put the drivers' best efforts out on the dirt oval.

UNOH Drivers on Friday night included Aidan Hinds in the No. 01 UMP Modified and Tyler Matheny, Dylan Drake and Houston Null in the No. 01, No. 1 and No. 11 Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks, respectively. Fans will recognize the four drivers from their appearances in UNOH cars last season. Driver lineups will update and change weekly, so fans are advised to keep an eye out for updates on social media.

After scoring a win the B Feature, modified driver Aidan Hinds was able to start 16th in the UMP Mod A Feature and keep the pedal to the metal to gain an impressive eight positions, finishing in the eighth spot. In the stock cars, Dylan Drake put on a show early in qualifying by running third fast in a field crowded with tough competitors.

In the Thunderstocks Feature, Matheny started third, Drake started fifth and Null ninth. Matheny quickly took the lead in the No. 01 leaf spring stock car, running strong and fast up front for multiple laps. Later in the race, the three UNOH cars ran three in a row, an exciting sight for team members and fans. After multiple yellow flags and a total of 15 green flag laps, Houston Null in the No. 11 was able to bounce back from the rear of the field and finish highest of the UNOH Thunderstocks in fourth. Tyler Matheny finished just behind in fifth, and Dylan Drake in the No. 1 ended in the ninth position.

Join the UNOH Motorsports Team in support of its drivers and of local hometown racing this upcoming Friday, May 9 for the Mike Streicher Memorial race. This event will include racing from the USAC D2 Midgets, UMP Modifieds, Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks and DTTS Trucks.
