Twelve Spring Athletes Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the 2024 Fall Sport Daktronics Scholar-Athletes naming twelve Racers to the list.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.
Softball led all spring sports naming six to the list of Scholar-Athletes with four picking up the honor for a third time, a feat accomplished just once prior to 2025, one earning her second and one named for the first time. Baseball picked up three honors with two first-timers and one first-timer. Women's golf landed two with one earning her third award, just the second player in program history to accomplish the feat, and one winning her first honor. Men's Golf landed one on the list, his second honor, making him just the fifth men's golfer to earn the honor in program history.
