Racers Win 74-60, Complete Season Sweep of Madonna

LIMA, OH - UNOH women's basketball made a push for a post season spot Wednesday night taking down Madonna, 74-60, and completing the season double.

The Crusaders scored the first four points of the game but it was their only lead of the night as the Racers scored the next 14 and took an early double-digit advantage. UNOH continued to pour it on and went up by as many as 20 in the second quarter holding a 42-28 lead at the break. Madonna shaved the deficit back to ten in the third and pulled within seven in the final frame, but the Racers answered with ten straight points to pull away down the stretch.

Olivia Thompson had a career night finishing two assists and two rebounds short of a triple-double. Her 18 points were a team high and her eight assists marked a new career best. The Camden, Ohio native has been exceptional over the last four games averaging 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 48% from three and 83% from the free throw line during that span.

Freshman Jordan Mueller got just the third start of her short career and answered the call with a career high 17 points on 7-12 (58%) shooting adding four assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Sanaiiya Gray scored 16 and pulled down seven rebounds with three steals, two assists and two blocks followed by Brooke Asher's twelve points and six boards.

With five games left to play, UNOH sits four games up for the final spot in the WHAC Tournament at the end of the month. The Racers can clinch a place in the post season with a win on Saturday, February 7 when they travel to last place Defiance.
