Men's Tennis Season Ends in NAIA Quarterfinals

MOBILE, AL - In their fourth consecutive trip to the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals, UNOH men's tennis fell short against No. 3 Keiser on Thursday ending their year at 18-6.

Despite the final 4-0 scoreline, the Racers gave the Hawks a fight splitting the first and third doubles before falling in a tight second line. Keiser won first, second and fourth singles to win the match but UNOH was split in the third line losing the first and winning the second set. They also won the first set of the sixth line and led in the second set of the fifth line.

Francisco Perez and Lucas Grana won first doubles easily 6-1, with Mete Koseoglu and Florian Smalto losing third doubles 2-6. Carlos Hernandez and Lucas Perez came up just short in second doubles falling 4-6.

Koseoglu lost in the first line of singles 1-6, 2-6, Francisco Perez dropped second line 4-6, 2-6 and Hernandez fell in the fourth line 2-6, 4-6. In the third line, Lucas Perez lost his first set 3-6 but won the second 7-5 going unfinished when the match was clinched. Grana fell in a tight first set 5-7 but led 5-4 in the second also going unfinished. Florian Smalto was the only Racer to win their first set doing it 7-6[7-3] and trailed by just one in the second, 4-5, when the match was concluded.
